Pussycat Dolls fined for flashing audience
The Pussycat Dolls are a group renowned for being raunchy, they started off as a burlesque group. So why is it that they are being fined and criticised for being too sexy in a performance in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia?
During the show, Carmit Bachar, the redhead who looks a bit like a man and has since left the group, allegedly flashed her boob while Ashley Roberts, another member of the group was accused of flashing her bits because she was wearing tiny shorts.
I am also aware that this would be considered unacceptable in any country, but they are using these alleged "flashings" to justify their anger at the performance in general. The Cultural Minister for Malaysia Rais Yatim said
I believe the way the Pussycat Dolls behaved on stage amounted to gross indecency.
He also said that the concert featured scantily dressed performers and sensual elements. Last year Gwen Stefani and Beyonce were forced to change their dance routines and outfits dramatically to perform there. So I guess my question here is, should a country that invites an act to perform who are widely know for their raunchiness expect that they just cover up from head to toe (or shoulder to knee in this case) even though it goes against the Pussycat Doll identity?
