$54 million dollar pants?
Have you heard about the $54 million dollar pants lawsuit in progress in Washington D.C.?
Apparently a local judge, Roy Pearson, brought a pair of pants into a local dry cleaners to be altered. When he came to retrieve his pants, they'd been lost. This is the second time in a few years that a garment of the judge's has suffer this fate. This time Pearson asked for $1,150 for a new suit as per the "Satisfaction Guaranteed" sign that hung in the store. After some back and forth between Pearson and the dry cleaner Pearson was offered $3,000. Then $4,600. And Finally 12,000. Then after doing some homework, Pearson became aware of a law still on the books that entitled him to 1,500 per day that the pants were missing.
As it turns out , the dry cleaner insists that they HAVE found Pearson's pant's but that he refused to take them. Through a translator the business owners had this to say: "It's not humorous, not funny and nobody would have thought that something like this would have happened. It's affecting us first of all financially, because of all the lawyers' fees. For two years, we've been paying lawyer fees. And we've gotten bad credit as well, and secondly, it's been difficult mentally and physically because of the level of stress. I would have never thought it would have dragged on this long. I don't want to live here anymore. It's been so difficult. I just want to go home, go back to Korea. I've been in the dry cleaning business for 14 years, but this has never ever happened before. If anything happened to our customers' clothing, we would always compensate them accordingly and fairly,"

UPDATE
On Monday a judge has ruled in the dry cleaners favor. JUSTICE is served. Now I hope they sue that idiot for pain and suffering, and defamation of character.......that would be an easy win.
